Tanya started off with King of Paws by applying for an internship in 2013. Once graduating she continued on to becoming a full time care assistant in our Doggie Day-care facility and under the guidance of Alex Petrilli and mentor Helen O’Dwyer, she is also now part of our Dog Training team. People can also meet Tanya at reception as she loves to get to know both owners and their fur babies’.
Tanya’s love of caring for animals stemmed as a child from her Grandparents; with her first fury love being her granddads German Shepard Teddy who was never too far of a distance from her side while growing up, from then on in dogs have remained a big part of her life.
She adopted one very special staffy Roxy and soon after decided to take her passion & love for Dogs further. In 2010 began fostering; having had many paw prints placed on her heart, some extra big ones stayed and she now lives with a house of four. Roxy her number one side kick and aka “our doggie day-care granny”; joined by Bruce a stubborn but soft pit-bull, an extremely nervous but sweet staffy Sasha & at last but not least queen of the house French bulldog Millie, with the biggest attitude of them all!
Tanya has an extra special love for misunderstood breeds and having struggled with two of her own, positive reinforcement and patients have greatly improved their quality of life. Making her very proud to be part of the king of paws team. Her favourite part of the job is helping shy or nervous dogs grow in confidence. She is currently studying canine behaviour & psychology.
